Our Philosophy

The Athlete Spectrum

There are many climbing-focused athletes who aim to advance in their sport, and many multi-sport athletes who want to build a stronger, more resilient body overall. What many of these athletes fail to realize is how effective a targeted strength training plan can be in helping them reach their goals. But should these athletes follow the same training plan? Absolutely not. Every individual has different goals, limitations, abilities, and motivations. These factors combine to create a unique situation that requires a personalized approach from both the athlete and the coach. At Progressive Performance, this is the kind of challenge we relish.

The Importance of Goals

Identifying and setting the right goals is one of the most crucial steps in creating an effective training plan. You’ll only see adaptations in the areas you actively train, so if your goals remain vague, the entire purpose of the plan can become unclear. To prevent that, we hold focused meetings to help set thoughtful, concrete goals and build the training plan around them. If you’re unsure of your goals but want help discovering them, we offer a free 30-minute introductory meeting where we can explore your objectives and outline a clear plan of action to help you reach them.
